Craig is an experienced corporate commercial lawyer having previously practiced with a prominent Silicon Valley law firm, and with a large international law firm, where Craig was a member of the national partnership board and served as a co-leader of the national venture technology group. Craig also practiced in-house at TELUS in Edmonton, and at Cisco Systems in California. This combination of cross-border private practice, in-house experience and industry knowledge enables him to work closely with clients to provide constructive, practical and efficient advice.

Craig’s experience ranges from advising entrepreneurial start-ups to complex transactions valued in excess of $30 billion. Regardless of the size of the client or the transaction, Craig is dedicated to providing helpful and responsive legal support. He acts as virtual in-house counsel meeting a wide range of legal needs.

Working as part of Kingsgate’s integrated and collaborative corporate commercial team, Craig assists clients throughout the life cycle of the business, from the early formative stages through the sale of business. Craig is particularly adept at negotiating and drafting agreements for complex arrangements such as: intellectual property and technology development, transfer and licensing; software as a service (SaaS) and cloud offerings; construction and infrastructure projects.

Community Involvement

Craig is director, secretary and legal counsel for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and the Francis Winspear Centre for Music. Craig is also an active supporter of the local startup community and supports local charities and non-profit organizations. Craig is a tireless booster of the Edmonton area and its sports teams, and can be found enjoying Edmonton’s River Valley dog parks, golf courses, ski trails and cycling paths.
